Time is catching up with the Time on My Hands Project! Years one, two and three are now complete, and the DVD’s of growing up in and around Withernsea at the beginning of the last century, and the story of Entertainment in the 1960’s, including the Grand Pavillion and the amusements, the train and much more, in the words of those who visited or lived there, are permanently on show in the museum, so pop in and have a look. You will be fascinated watching the stories told by people you probably know! All the stories gathered over the lifespan of the project are being transcribed by volunteers, with the aim of getting a book published in 2010, and Lyz is working with schools in the area to produce their own ‘Time on My Hands’ history, learning the skills of interviewing, research and DVD production along the way. There were many ways to get involved with the project, and volunteers could: We are always happy to welcome you to our local museums, so come and visit and enjoy these wonderful stories. They have been a pleasure to collect and display.
